Summer Gala returns to Brayford Pool

Summer fun: The second Lincoln Summer Gala will return to the Brayford Pool, with several activities planned for families.

The Brayford Pool will host the second Lincoln Summer Gala, a free family friendly event held on Saturday, July 31, from 10am to 6pm.

The festival is arranged by local businesses and organisations as a response to the economic downturn, and is organised by the University of Lincoln and the Lincoln Business Improvement Group (Lincoln BIG).

“It’s going to be a fun, free, family day out,” said Lesley Bunn, Events Manager at the University of Lincoln. “There will be lots of different events, including live music, fairground rides and a farmers’ market, as well as water sports, activities for children and exhibitors from community groups.”

Last year’s event attracted several hundreds of visitors to the Brayford Pool area. This year’s fun and games be centred around Brayford Wharf North, Brayford Wharf East and the University of Lincoln main campus.

Among the attractions, you will find fairground rides, water sports, trampolining, and a climbing wall. Children can enjoy face painting, cartoon workshops, and a soft-play area. Local bands will provide musical accompaniment, and the Lincolnshire Farmers’ Market will be serving local fayre.
