Lincoln trains disrupted by cable theft

Disruption: Trains from Lincoln to Nottingham and Leicester are disrupted after cabling theft in Newark.

Train services between Lincoln, Nottingham and Leicester have been disrupted due to reported theft of cabling in the Newark area.

East Midlands Trains have put bus services in place to replace cancelled trains between Nottingham and Lincoln.

Services between Leicester and Lincoln are only running between Leicester and Nottingham at the moment.

Trains between Cleethorpes and Newark Northgate are terminating in Lincoln.

Network Rail engineers are in the Newark area repairing the damage caused by the cabling theft, which led to signal malfunctions.

A company spokesperson told The Lincolnite it is expected normal service would resume by this afternoon.
