Book Festival searches county’s top books

Top reading: Organisers of the Lincoln Book Festival are searching for Lincolnshire’s top 20 favourite book titles.

The search is on for Lincolnshire’s favourite book with Lincoln Book Festival asking people to vote for their best-loved titles between now and May 6.

The voting takes place on the festival’s Facebook Page, where people can choose from a list of 20 popular titles or add their own to the list.

Lincolnshire’s Top Titles will be revealed on the first day of the Lincoln Book Festival, which takes place between May 11 and 15 in 12 venues around the city.

The festival’s coordinator Sharon Stone said she is really keen to find out which books Lincolnshire people rate as their favourite.

“If they agree with our top 20 or if they want to champion a book that doesn’t currently feature in the list – we want to find out.”

The Lincoln Book Festival will feature some renowned poets, including the former Poet Laureate Sir Andrew Motion, Brian Patten and Attila the Stockbroker, as well as popular authors including award-winning crime writer Val McDermid, Sophie Hannah and Lincolnshire’s Margaret Dickinson.

All events will be ticketed, although some events are free and others start at £3 (concessions are available). Tickets are available online, by calling 01522 873894, or in person from the Lincoln Drill Hall box office in Free School Lane, Lincoln. Some tickets may also be bought direct from book festival venues.
