The Bangers & Fizz Charity Quiz organised by The Lincolnite, Ringrose Law and Visual Print and Design will return on Friday, May 17.

In 2023 the fourth event raised £2,000 for the United Lincolnshire Hospitals charity. More than 150 people joined the speed quiz fun at The Drill in Lincoln, and enjoyed fizz and a two course meal.

For 2024, the annual quiz night will raise funds for DevelopmentPlus, an organisation that is dedicated to building a future where thriving is the norm, not merely surviving. Based in Lincolnshire, they extend support to those facing disadvantages, focusing on enhancing trust, confidence, skills, and capacities. Through personalised attention and targeted training, they aim to improve individuals' economic prospects and mental health. This is achieved by providing a blend of advocacy, and encouragement to seek specialised support for various life challenges.

The core of their mission involves one-to-one coaching, mentoring, and advocacy, alongside creative, peer-led group activities. Annually, over 500 beneficiaries benefit from their four main projects, supported by a passionate team. This collective effort embodies their commitment to facilitating significant and positive changes in the lives of individuals from diverse backgrounds, steering them towards a brighter future.

For our fifth event we are moving to The Assembly Rooms on Bailgate, from 6pm for the drinks reception, and 7pm for the food and quiz followed by some live music to round off the evening.

Tickets are available for only £37.50 per person with a two course meal (posh sausages and mash & veg, plus dessert, veggie option available) and a fizz reception. All proceeds will be donated to charity. Book your tickets now.

The quiz will once again be hosted by quizmaster extraordinaire Ronnie Byrne, and if you haven't attended previously, you'll find it quite a different experience.

The speed quiz is available via a mobile app (only one needed per team), and the team with the quickest correct answers wins. There are several rounds, including music, local knowledge, current affairs and sport.
